Do I need a boating license?

No. There are no requirements to have a license unless you were born on or after Jan 1st, 1988; however, a Boater Education Card is highly preferred. We do require that you have a fair amount of boating experience and are at least 27 years of age with valid driver’s license.

Is there parking at the marina?

Each rental includes parking for a maximum of 2 cars. Location specific passes are provided at check-in. Plan accordingly to ensure a timely boat departure.

How much can we expect to pay in fuel?

The boat comes fully fueled. Typically, it costs between $50-$120, depending on what you do during your day on the water. Finding the right RPM for basic cruising will save on gas; however, amount of people onboard and/or wind direction can also affect gas used. We refuel the vessel at our marina. Fuel costs are withheld from the security deposit at the end of the rental.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes. We ask that you clean up behind them while on the beach and keep them off the seats. Additional cleaning fees will apply (wet dog hair...you get the point :P)

Where can we go?

The Intracoastal Waterway between Carolina Beach and Mason’s Inlet. We will provide you with a water-way map and are happy to offer tips and guidance about how you can enjoy your day on the water. The ICW has several shallow draft and shoaling areas. We will show you the local spots to anchor and swim. We offer captained adventures to Sharks Tooth Island with advanced reservations. ABSOLUTELY NO OCEAN, BACKWATER, OR RIVER EXCURSIONS (including but not limited to downtown Wilmington, Bald Head, Southport, Fort Fisher).

Are there places to dock and eat on the ICW?

Yes! Carolina Beach Yacht Basin has a dock and dine restaurant. Wrightsville Beach offers many restaurants near the Wrightsville Beach Bridge. We always encourage you to bring snacks and drinks with you. Remember, it is an adventure!

Are watersports allowed?

We do not permit towables of any kind (not even your own!) for safety’s sake. For added fun, check out our Floating Water Mats. They can be added to any boat rental for hours of fun while anchored up safely at the beach.

Do you offer boat rental insurance?

Renting a boat should be a fun and relaxing experience, and vQuip’s coverage options are designed to provide you with the peace of mind you need to fully enjoy your time on the water. You can opt for boat rental insurance to safeguard your adventure during registration.
